The issue of Piracy

As previously mentioned political parties in Sweden have started taking interest in the currently very active debate about piracy and the new law that will legally prohibit the citizens of sweden to download copyright protected music and movies off the net.

The latest party to join in the discussion is the “Green Party”:http://www.mp.se/templates/template_78.asp_Q_avdnr_E_12131_A_number_E_34325_A_avdelning_E_12146 of Sweden. They recently “issued a statement (swe)”:http://www.mp.se/templates/template_78.asp_Q_avdnr_E_5_A_number_E_71144 where they not only stated they did not want this new law to pass, but they also want to make it legal to not only download copyright protected music & movies, but to upload / share them with other people on the internet.…

Not much news

Not much news worth mentioning. Well of course something neat always happens..but..eh whatever..

Ate a ton today on this easters evning, I feel absolutley stuffed. I can feel myself getting a tad sick too, my throat is sort of getting scratchy and clogged up and it’s time to lay low on the workout..again..siiighhh.. I’ve just been getting started and been to the gym more or less every day this week. Been doing a lot of cardio to get the juices up running..…

Well here we go again..
For the first time ever a swedish citizen has been charged with
sharing copyright protected material (in form of media.. movies/music) off his computer, in this case it is the swedish movie “Hipp Hipp Hora”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0385751/ The person was reported to the swedish police by.. drumroll… APB and the police followed up. The evidence seem to be in form of nothing less than monitoring his uploads (or more likely, downloading from him and saving the logs..).…

To clarify and to shed some light on why the issue of piracy has become so big lately in swedish media it is mainly because of the recent raids made by an organisation who calls themselves “The Anti-Piracy Bureau”. Now this is an organisation that has nothing to do with the Swedish goverment or has any special legal privileges. They’re simply a lobby organisation representing big entertainment labels. This makes it even more strange when they seemingly get the swedish police to follow their lead..…

I’ve been having some Slashdot effects. Should work better now. On a sidenote, I personally think Piratbyran (freely translated “the piracy bureau” the Swedish so-called counter part of APB) blows just about as bad as the swedish bureau of anti-piracy. Downloading copyright protected material off BitTorrent isn’t cool, hip or trendy.. unless you’re 12 and revolting against the big bad world and your folks. Might be practical for some.. but no..it won’t make you cool, part of “the scene” or an awesome outlaw admired by the ladies or your fellow nerds (which might just be the same thing).…

Cheap Monday

Ah well, the web-gig didn’t come through. Some folks seem to think that creating a professional looking web is done with black magic, is instantly spawned and doesn’t take any time whatsoever to create. Not saying these folks per say, but they sure hoped me to be cheaper. Well I’m already dirt cheap and I can’t go any lower coz that’d make me the frikkin Lidl of webdesigners. Alchemy

Noticed today that the anime of Hiromu Arakawas “Full Metal Alchemist”:http://www.fullmetalalchemist.com is completed.. I can’t say I’ve eagarly awaited its release but it sure is a nice surprise for slow days such as this one. I really dig this anime both in it’s visual style and story. It becomes surprisingly brutal and bloody as the story unfolds. And yes, I am a nerd, I will be posting some stuff about manga and anime here from time to time because of that.…

Engines Roar

Well not really. Since most of them were turned off. Went to the car show “Motormassan”:http://www.motormassansundsvall.net/ (think I know the dude who..designed..that page, he’s drunk, blind and lives in a barn) in Sundsvall today with the old man..saw and sat in some nice cars. Outrageously expensive tho, 70 SEK (approx 10 USD) just to enter.

Also went to “Lidl”:http://www.lidl.se/se/ for the first time today. Sweet prices on a bunch of stuff but tacky atmosphere. Sort of like the impression their shitty web gives off.…
