I have been looking for a way to show the date in the menubar of Mac OS X Leopard. I found a couple of guides, including this one over at Lifehacker and I just could not get it to work. Finally I found a tip from the last comment that I had to enable “seconds” for the clock in order to get this to work. Now finally I got it to work.

Not only does it now show the date it also shows the current week which means I can get rid of the widget I had been using for this purpose. Here is a screenshot of my menubar now:

Are the guys at SCEE lazy or what?

Since I work with GUI and information (which is hard to believe looking at this ugly blog I know) I had been looking forward to the new Playstation 3 store. I was looking forward to a new and improved structure and the preview functionality. Imagine my surprise when I noticed after upgrading that, so far, the European Playstation 3 store is considerably worse than the US store.

Please Sony, get your act together. There is just no reason to do this. It is bad enough I can download a demo on one store but not on another, but when it comes down to the structure of your store there is simply no reason you guys can’t just get a long..or work equally hard..or whatever the reason for this is.

Oh and I’m not even getting into the horrible loading times of those icons.

Playstation 3 Store Europe. Only a few categories that are indicated by icons. Categories like these are messy, for instance is “Flow” considered to be a strategy type game which is..well let’s just say I don’t see labeling the game with a well known icon from a chess game (the horse).

 
 
The US store however has a more logical approach where you can sort titles by name, genre, etc. Much more useable.

This makes me sad. I want the preview! I hate to have to download trailers..

..and I don’t want to sign in to my US account just to avoid doing that!

I’ve had my Macbook Pro now for a while and ever since I got it basically from the US I have been wondering how to enter the < sign or the > sign. Today I found it by mistake. It’s the tilde sign located to the left of nr 1. Hoppas det här hjälper för de som precis som jag köpt sin Macbook/Macbook Pro i USA och sitter med svenskt tangentbordslayout inställd på ett keyboard som är amerikanskt.

Nu kan jag skriva < och > när jag vill.
Fantastiskt.

Uppdaterat/Update: Om du vill skriva ett tilde tecken på en svensk Macbook eller en svensk Macbook Pro så gör du såhär. If you want to write a tilde sign on a swedish Macbook or on a Macbook Pro this is how you do it.

I must say the new version of WordPress, 2.5, is quite the nice one. I am still a bit annoyed by the WYSIWYG editor not working perfectly in Safari 3.1. But the HTML one is good enough and the most annoying bugs are fixed.

I just started using Airfoil today. Great app for streaming my audio from the Macbook Pro to the Mac Mini. It’s an application that sort of emulates the Airport Express. Diff is this works for plenty of apps.
